Afternoon Distraction: Slap Her

I love this video. I love that they are speaking Italian and they are my favorite adorable age- I used to teach 4th/5th grade, so dudes in that age bracket are like kryptonite for me. I love them so.

Bottom line is the message is so so good and I just checked flight costs to Italy because surely Sabbath can happen better there. 🙂

(By the way, Afternoon Distractions are usually just that- short little videos I watch when I should be writing. 🙂  Click here to see some of the ones I’ve posted in the past. Just please don’t waste your ENTIRE afternoon watching. I will feel all the guilt for that.)

I mean. This song. It’s such a bummer of a Monday song but it’s also like a perfect Monday song.

So I’m sorry and you’re welcome.

If you didn’t see the documentary yesterday on ABC, I hope you’ll catch it somehow.

Makes me proud to live here.

Also makes me nervous that everyone ever is going to want to move here and people we don’t need traffic so come if you are willing to ride a bicycle as your primary form of transit amen.

Afternoon Distraction: Mary Poppins

on August 19, 2013 in Afternoon Distraction with 11 comments by

The second summer I was a youth group intern, the summer between my sophomore and junior years of college, the youth pastor left to take over at another church. It was one of the most challenging experiences of my life. And for some reason, escapism that summer came in the form of watching Mary Poppins and Joel Osteen.

I can’t explain it.

I just know that as a kid, and even as an adult, this film holds a sweet and special place in my heart.

When I saw this trailer for Saving Mr. Banks, well, I just already teared up so that’s gonna be a real treat for whoever is forced to sit beside me in December 2013.

Have you seen this trailer yet? Are you excited about the movie?

Wertz is so 80s right now. And it is AWESOME.

His new album Heatwave comes out in just a few weeks and I’m telling y’all, YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT.

But for now, please enjoy this video featuring some of our other afternoon distractions – Steve Moakler and Amy Stroup! [Ben Rector is in this too and I don’t know why he hasn’t distracted us one afternoon yet. But he will. Just you wait for it.]

If you can get past the screaming girls [good gravy], you should listen to Ashton Kutcher. This is a good word. I hope that screaming herd of teenie-boppers really digested the words he said. Great stuff.
