Possibly the most creative person I have ever known, Andrew Peterson is a songwriter, singer, author, filmmaker, farmer, and pretty much a billion other things. He’s just significantly cooler than me, which you’ll know soon enough.
If you’ve been around here for a while, we’ve been talking for a long time about one of Andrew’s songs- The Sower’s Song- the one that got me going about myrtle a few months. And we talk about it today on the show- along with writing fiction, Nashville, gardening, songwriting, and the massive role Andrew played ten years ago in my writing career.
His Resurrections Letters albums are just brilliant. I think you are going to love them.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this episode!

You know I have two real dreams for my friends listening- that you would love the enneagram and international soccer.
The Men’s World Cup, the biggest worldwide soccer tournament, begins next week and this summer is the best time for you to jump on board and learn to love the sport. (I hope. I hope so hard.)
So I grabbed two of my favorite dudes and soccer (and comedy) experts- Aaron Chewning and Dave Barnes- and we went DEEEEP into soccer. Stick with us, friends. Lots to learn, lots of soccer player name drops, lots of laughs, and maybe one of my favorite episodes ever.
All you need to know about the World Cup (seriously, there’s a lot)

Y’all know we love talking about Sabbath around here, and with summer kicking off this week, let’s talk a bit about slowing down and what rest can look like (I bet it’s different than you think). Curtis Zackery, or CZ as we friends call him, has written a new book called Soul Rest all about it. We knock into a lot of topics- church leadership, race, miscarriage, just to name a few- and you’re going to love and respect this pastor, leader, author, and friend by the time we’re done.

Harvest and I have been friends for years and I’ve watched her grow as a worship leader and as a woman of God in amazing (and pain-filled) ways. Buckle up for a conversation about pain and worship and the book of Revelation… and movie pass. 🙂 Her new album Preachers will be a gift to be played over and over in your life.

My gracious I love these people. If you are a church person, you probably have been singing Passion Music songs for years. And I bet you already know Kristian Stanfill, Melodie Malone, and Brett Younker. But today we sit down and have one of my favorite conversations with all three of them. (And we call on the power of Shelley Giglio a few times too… mainly to get us La Croix endorsements.) Passion Music just released a new album, Whole Heart, that you are going to totally love.

I am so so happy to have a sweet mama on the show this week to help kick off your Mother’s Day Weekend celebrating! Hilary Yancey has a unique, hard, and beautiful story of her growing family that I think will connect with you and change you. Her first book, Forgiving God: A Story of Faith is moving and powerful and yet intensely vulnerable and kind. You’ve gonna love it and you’re gonna love her.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you women who birthed, adopted, raised, cared for, and hugged children. Whether they are yours or they are someone else’s but loved by you, you are doing good work. Keep it up. I’m proud to be your friend.

It’s a strong women kind of week around here. And you know how much I love when my friends become friends- so that’s my hope with today’s episode! Candace Cameron Bure has a new book out- Kind Is The New Classy– and she’s a Hallmark movie star AND she is DJ Tanner. So for all the reasons, I was so so happy to get to chat with her! And then I grabbed my gal Mo Isom to come and hang with us, too. Mo has been on the show before, but her new book Sex, Jesus, and the Conversations the Church Forgot is amazing and I was DYING to get her here to talk with us.
And now all my dreams are coming true because it’s just like we all sat down at the same table over coffee (or chai) and got to be friends. 🙂

We used some wizardly tricks to get today’s podcast together for you! Ginna Claire Mason is currently starring as Glinda in the touring cast of Wicked. It is probably my favorite musical and Ginna Claire is FOR SURE my favorite witch. 🙂 So while the show was in Nashville, we sat down and talked about Broadway life and Nashville life and faith life and how twitter made us friends. I’m excited to introduce you to our new favorite Broadway star.

I am so grateful to be friends with Alex Seeley. One of the pastors of The Belonging Co in Nashville, Alex is a strong and kind voice of leadership in our city and around the world. And she’s Australian, so her accent will bless your soul today. Her new book, Tailor Made, is a deep dive into identity and how to move forward in your life with Christ. (IT IS AWESOME.)

After the podcast episode with John Crist, y’all wanted to hear more about Onsite Workshops. Ask and you shall receive, my friends. CEO and owner of Onsite, Miles Adcox, joins us today to talk about his journey to mental and emotional health, answers some good nuts and bolts questions about Onsite, and makes me talk too much (SORRY). If you or someone you love is looking to dig deeper into your own story, I hope this conversation about Onsite helps give you some direction and clarity.
