. . . . .

We are about to have

and we want you to be a part of it!

. . . . .

What does THE BEST YEAR EVER include??

— TWO book launches (Oct 2017 and June 2018)!

— 3rd annual That Sound Fun Weekend PLUS book launch party (July 2018)!

— 3rd season of That Sounds Fun Podcast (Sept 2017)!

— 30+ speaking events across the country (and you’ll come to some of them with me)!

— lots of other fun and crazy ideas cooking in the kitchen- we just need YOU here to help execute and dream with us!

If you have been looking to move to Nashville, or looking for a super fun internship that pays a little money, if you have some professional skillz you’d like to grow, and think Downs Books Inc would be a fun place to do it – we want to hear from you! Working with Annie F. Downs as her business and ministry grow and expand is fun and busy and exciting and lots of hard work, but we eat popsicles sometimes so that makes it all okay.

. . . . .

what this year long internship is:

internship dates:

September 15, 2017 – August 1, 2018

. . . . .

what this internship isn’t:

. . . . .

two internships available:

1. Marketing/PR/Etc. : In Nashville
(This role would be filled by someone who has marketing experience and/or wants to gain more. This will include a lot of work with the book launches and the event, as well as may look like reaching out to colleges, churches and organizations that Downs Books Inc. wants to either make connections with, or strengthen the existing connection. This role will also be in the office with Annie daily and help manage office things- like runs to the post office, etc. )

2. Graphic Design: In Nashville preferred, but not required
(This role would be responsible to work on a daily basis to build share squares, social media, headers and footers for email and revamp the podcast. All the beautiful things that we have no idea how to make.)

. . . . .

Do I have to be in Nashville? I mean, yeah. That would be awesome. We can talk about it, but particularly for the graphic design internship, that could be in another city. But the marketing person needs to be in town.

I don’t currently live in Nashville. Can I live with you? Nope, and you don’t want to. I’m messy. For this internship, you’ll need to move here and find housing here.

What if I want to intern but none of these roles fit me exactly? These are really the areas where we have identified needs as well as feel capable to help guide and lead. BUT. That being said, reach out! Tell us why we NEEEEEED you. I’m not a hard sell. 🙂

What will a normal week look like? We don’t exactly do “normal” around here. But we’ll definitely have a full team time together Monday mornings, and then everyone will work a few days in the office, a few days at home, and a full day of Sabbath- usually Wednesdays. (We believe in it.) We work hard but we have fun.

My family goes on vacation every summer. Can I go? For sure. I mean, if it’s like a week. If it’s a month, this may not be the best plan for you. Let’s talk about it.

Could this internship turn into a job in the future? Strong maybe. No promises, it will depend on a lot of variables, but we’ve hired lots of interns before. It definitely happens.
