Emily The Bachelorette.

It is high timed we talked about things of some serious importance.

Example: The Bachelorette

[Dear friends, if you watch this show and are not caught up to this week’s episode, leave now and do not blame me if you scan this post and run headfirst into a spoiler.]

[Dear dudes, don’t give up on me. You’ve had some dude posts, more to come. But, I gots to talk to my gals about The Bach.]

So. We all know that I had some strong opinions on the situation we’ll call Ben’s Shameful Season.

But the birds began to sing again and the sun came out from behind the clouds when Emily was announced as the next Bachelorette.

Listen, Emily’s is pure adorable. And so far this season, she has made us all believe that she is in this to find love, that she is going to ask the serious questions, and that she is open to meeting the right guy… making ol’ Ben look like the biggest shmuck that side of the Mississippi. [Because thank heavens he doesn’t live on THIS side.]

So I will happily talk about this season because I don’t feel cheated, lied to, manipulated, or sick to my stomach after her episodes…. as was my normal state after Ben’s Shameful Season.

Thoughts on Emily:

A. I love how much she loves to sparkle. You know I have strong feelings for all things glitter and this week, she outdid herself- the gold “trophy wife” dress and the white number at the rose ceremony? You work it, Emily. You. Work. It.

B. I loved the Scottish theme this week on the group date! Hilarious. Highland games are so fun to watch.

C. That Kaylon guy? Y’ALL. Give me a break. A luxury brand rep? Wasn’t that his title? I think that’s code for working retail at Nordstrom. Though, he did arrive in a helicopter that I am SURE he did not pay for.

D. The single dad with six kids? Whoa. The single dad who cried so much? Yipes. The single dad [Humble Doug] who is still in the mix? I love him.

E. Sean is my current fave; he reminds me so much of Kirk from Ali’s season- y’all remember him? The one who’s parents were taxidermists and he wore a Dave Barnes shirt? I think Sean is sweet and an upright kind of dude- he seems to really like her and she seems to like him.

F. We’ve reached that point in the season where all the guys are pals and I genuinely like them all for their own reasons. Except Chris and Wolf… what are THEY still doing there?

  • Doug: sweet guy, SO shy, but she likes his kindness and his single dad-ness
  • Ari: she loves him, let’s face it. Gave him Ryan’s rose? Classic.
  • Jef: I have some baggage about Jef, so I don’t like him – he reminds me of a former boss. BUT. He’s growing on me each week.
  • Sean: I love. [See E. above]

G. I would legitimately be pleased if she picked any of those four boys.

H. I like that Emily seems to continually be true to herself. Well played, sister. Well played.

I. I can’t believe they got to perform with Miss Piggy.

J. London. I love that place. And Prague next week? I hope they had better luck exiting that country than I did. Oops.

K. I have mixed emotions about Ryan. I think it is fascinating that in the car he was worried about how he would be edited. I wonder about that myself [how he was edited, not how I will be edited]. Much like Emily, I love and don’t love Ryan, at the same time. [Em and I? We have complicated emotions.]

Those are my thoughts as of today… we’ll save L-Z for another time.

. . . . .

What are YOUR thoughts? Are you enjoying Emily as The Bachelorette? Who do you think she picks? And remember… I don’t read spoiler websites, so don’t tell me anything that you KNOW, just tell me what you THINK.
