Perfectly Unique: 2 months

I know it is a holiday, so I’ll keep this brief. We’ve all got important things to attend to, such as barbecues and swimming pools and sunscreen.

People, wear sunscreen.

Today marks exactly two months until Perfectly Unique sprouts wings and flies into your homes and lives and bookshelves.

September 4, 2012.

If you wanna, you can order now, “pre-order” as they call it in the biz :), and then it will fly to you in two months and you’ll probably forget you ordered it and it will land on your front stoop and you’ll be like, “WHAT A HUGE SURPRISE…. that I previously paid for.”

. . . . .

I have many-a-thought about this season of my life. I’m grateful for women like Ann who have gone before me and remind me to “breathe, Annie” and “it will all be fine” and “God is in control” and “even if you feel alone you aren’t” and “don’t be such a freak about everything.” You know, important tips like that.

Because there are days in the pre-publication phase, y’all. There. Are. Days. Days when I feel panic and worry and excitement and nervous and pretty much I am an emotion smoothie.

But I’m also really REALLY excited. I mean, like whoa.

. . . .

As I mentioned on June 4, it would mean a lot to me if y’all would pray for me and for Perfectly Unique on the 4th of each month… today, August 4th, and then THE DAY, September 4th.

And these are the four things I would love for you to pray:

1. Pray that the book gets into all of the right hands and none of the wrong ones. Pray that each girl who reads this book would feel enveloped by freedom and grace and love and hope.

2. Pray that God would be high and lifted up, glorified, honored, and loved more deeply by the readers of this book.

3. Pray that God will open all the right doors and close all the wrong doors.

4. Finally. Selfishly. Would you pray for my heart, my relationships, my humility, and my sanity. These are all things I fear losing to some degree at some point in this process.

. . . . .

Thank you, friends. Now, go out there and celebrate America- the home of weirdos like me who are allowed to laugh loudly and live openly because we are free.

Let's be friends!
