Girls of Grace in Phoenix!

It’s my last day in Edinburgh and what a joy joy joy these two weeks have been. I think the best recap comes in the photo documentation I have done over on the ol’ instagram.

Suffice it to say that having two hometowns, on two different continents, can feel a bit whackadoodle at times, sad at times, and pure happiness at others.

Currently? Happiness aboundeth.

. . . . .

And now I fly back to the USA and get to jump right into one of the most exciting things in my career: Girls of Grace!

There are a few bands and a few speakers throughout the day and we each get to focus on a different topic. Mine? The power of words. [I mean, what makes them think I know anything about that? Is it my constant talking or struggles to not gossip or the fact that words are my job? All of it? Oh, okay.]

So at each Girls of Grace event, I get to be the one to encourage these teen girls to use their words wisely and well and change the world with what they choose to create with what they write and say.

To say I’m giddy about the whole thing is the understatement of 2012. I mean, the other speakers are insanely talented and gifted and I’m a fan of every musician on the tour. So, pretty much, I’m the biggest fan of the Girls of Grace tour and I get to attend all the events!

Over the next ten months we will be in ten different cities and I hope to meet tens and tens of you lovely gals out there. In each city, I will have a few tickets to giveaway [woot!] and a discount code for all of y’all [woot! x2].

So, if you want to buy a ticket to a Girls of Grace event, use GOGPTNR12. This is a 20% off code  and it applies to current individual ticket prices, not groups or with other promotions.

. . . . .

And. AND. Because my publisher Zondervan is the coolest ever, if you come to the Phoenix, Jackson, or Charlotte events, you can buy Perfectly Unique like, weeks and weeks before it comes out.

I know. I freaked out too. I was all, “wait… so you’ll go to tons of extra work to have the book ready super way early just because I’m hanging out with lots of teen girls in the next few weeks?”

And Zondervan was all, “yeah. We’re that cool.”

I’m impressed. And excited. I haven’t even held Perfectly Unique in my own little paws yet. Not until this weekend in Phoenix. Some of my friends already have it. I’m jealously thrilled about that.

. . . . .

And now for free tickets! If you live in/near/around/driveable to Phoenix, I’ve got TWO TICKETS to give away for Saturday’s event at Bethany Bible Church. To enter, all you have to do is tell me in the comments that you wanna come and who you would bring on your 2nd ticket! Only rule is that you’ve got to be a teen girl or the mom of a teen girl or a youth leader who brings a teen girl. You get it. No dudes will be winning [unless you are giving them to your teen daughter and her pal or something].

Comments close at noon on Friday so the winner has time to sort out the details of getting to Bethany Bible Church by 8am Saturday morning.

Assuming all goes well on my travels today [pray!], I’ll see y’all back here tomorrow!

Let's be friends!
