What would you ask the stars of TFIOS?

So I got an email last week inviting me to the Fan Event for The Fault In Our Stars, the movie based on the book by John Green.

I thought, “that is so cool! I can’t believe I get to sit in the audience and have a ticket reserved for me.”

And then the PR guy was all, “and we’d like for you to have a spot on the red carpet where you’ll be able to interview the stars of the movie and John Green.”

And then I was all, EMOJI WITH WIDE EYES. (You know the one…)

I love doing interviews. You know that from IF:Gathering. (Proof. Proof 2.0. Proof video style.) I love making friends and talking to people and asking about their lives. In fact, I’m getting more and more of these opportunities and it makes me giddy (and it will make you say WHOOOOAAA when you read about my life dream in Let’s All Be Brave because for these chances to be presented to me is all sorts of cray since I wrote that book a year ago.)

So while I’m thrilled about the chance to be interviewing on the red carpet, I was a little surprised, but mainly honored and stoked. Boy did I say yes fast- it will be a BLAST to chat with Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Nat Wolff, and John Green.

I’ve done my due diligence in research and have learned a lot about these four fine folks, and I’ve formulated some interesting and humorous but not annoying questions (I hope!), but I know many of you are fans of this book and this movie as well, so I thought CROWDSOURCE!

Help me, you guys.

What questions should I ask the stars of The Fault In Our Stars? Anything you really want to know?

And yes, I’m having ALL THE FEELS about meeting John Green tomorrow. But I’m gonna be profesh, don’t you worry. I’ll make you proud, friends.

(And by the way, I will be posting like crazy on Instagram and Twitter, so if you want to keep up with real time tomorrow (Thursday), that will be the best place to do it. Or follow #TFIOSTN hashtag!)

Aaaaah! I’m so excited for you! 😀 That’s awesome. I’ll be refreshing instagram to see all your pictures. I’d love to know what each person’s favorite experience during the filming process was.

Congratulations! I am so happy for you! This librarian and family has had the opportunity to meet a lot of authors at conferences. JG has stood out for me as a librarian and a mom with his politeness. He asked about each person that we were having books autographed for. One book was for the high school age daughter, C, who was there with me. The other was for the college-age daughter, A. JG asked C why she got to come and her sister didn’t. Her reply, “She’s in summer school.” “Oh!” he says, sounding disappointed. We replied that this was a good thing. She would be finished with college after summer school. Enjoy your interview!

Hey Annie, I think this is so cool that you get to meet all of them. John Green actually lives in Indianapolis, Indiana which is really close to where I live. I would like to know if he prefers to write novels or to do vlogs on the internet more. Thanks Annie and have fun.

I just finished reading that book on Monday night! My go-to question for writers is always, “What are you reading right now?” I don’t have a go-to question for actors, so ask them the same thing!

Ah this is SO SO SO exciting, Annie! I am personally dying to know what inspired John Green to create a character like Peter Van Houten and what significance An Imperial Affliction has to his own life. Shailene, I would ask in what ways she feels like she relates most to Hazel. Ansel, I would ask what he admires most about Gus, and I would ask Nat what was his determining factor in choosing to be a part of this movie and play Isaac.
The book was incredible and I cannot wait for the movie to come out!!! You are so privileged to interview them.

I’m so happy for you!! This whole thing brought a huge smile to my face!
The book is incredible- all of John Green’s books are (nerdfighter for life 😉 ). I’ve been wondering how working on this movie has changed the cast members perspective of cancer and teens and if they agree with John, that a short life can be a full one. I love you Annie and I’m sending you loads of hugs from Texas!!

AHHHH!!! What an amazing opportunity! One question idea might be…What books impacted you as a teen / middle school student?

Whoa! That is so cool! Congratulations! I absolutely love the book and can’t wait to see the movie. My question (and this could be directed at any of them) would be, “In what way do you most hope to see an impact from this movie?” or “What would you like people to come away with after seeing the movie?”

Have fun on the red carpet!

I can’t believe you get to meet him! I will be there with you in spirit…you’re the one who introduced me to the vlogbrothers, and I’ve loved John ever since.
Seriously so proud and excited for you!!!!

Hey. That’s so cool. I love looking on here at all your new blogs! I’m gonna tell my sister about your amazing opportunity. I don’t know what I would ask them, but I’m sure you have great ideas. I’d like to see that interview. Will we be able to see it at all anywhere????
