We need some interns!!

Downs Books Internships

. . . . .

All of our Summer 2016 intern spots have been filled.

Please check back here soon to see what kind of internships will be available for the 2016-2017 school year!

. . . . .

We are excited to have a few fun slots opening for this summer! If you are a college student looking for credit this summer, have some fun skillz you’d like to grow, and think Nashville would be a fun place to do it – we want to hear from you! Working with Annie F. Downs as her business and ministry grow and expand is fun and busy and exciting and lots of hard work, but we eat popsicles sometimes so that makes it all okay.

what this internship is:

internship dates:

May 23 – July 29, 2016

. . . . .

what this internship isn’t:

. . . . .

four internships available:

1. Marketing/PR
(This role would be filled by someone who has marketing experience and/or wants to gain more. This may look like reaching out to colleges, churches and organizations that Downs Books Inc. wants to either make connections with, or strengthen their connection.)

2. Events
(This position would be filled by someone who is eager to work in the realm of hospitality and events. They will be working more closely with the details of the LFL weekend.)

3. Graphic Design
(This role would be responsible to work on a daily basis to build share squares, social media, headers and footers for email and revamp the podcast. All the beautiful things that we have no idea how to make.)

4. Audio/Video (podcasts, etc.)
(This person would seriously SAVE THE DAY in helping with the podcast and making videos for youtube, instagram, etc. You need to be able to provide your own camera and equipment.)

Do I have to be in Nashville? I mean, yeah. That would be awesome. We can talk about it, but particularly for the graphic design internship and the audio/video internship, those could be in another city. But the marketing person and the events person needs to be in town.

Everyone MUST be available to be in Nashville from July 20-24, 2016.

I don’t go to school in Nashville. Can I live with you for the summer? Nope, and you don’t want to. I’m messy. But if you don’t live in Nashville currently, you’ll need to find housing here.

What if I want to intern but none of these roles fit me exactly? These are really the areas where we have identified needs as well as feel capable to help guide and lead. BUT. That being said, reach out! Tell us why we NEEEEEED you. I’m not a hard sell. 🙂

What will a normal week look like? We don’t exactly do “normal” around here. But we’ll definitely have a full team time together Monday mornings, and then everyone will work a few days in the office, a few days at home, and a full day of Sabbath. (We believe in it.) We work hard but we have fun.

My family goes on vacation every summer. Can I go? For sure. I mean, if it’s like a week. If it’s a month, this may not be the best plan for you. Let’s talk about it.
