A Brave Story: Calleigh + Madison

thatisbravesquared[Once a week, I am going to be sharing with you a brave story sent in from a reader. You can comment, respond, encourage. Want to submit your own story or a story of a brave friend of yours? Head to thatisbrave.com!]

This week’s #thatisbrave story comes from Calleigh. One sweet friend seeing the brave in another? It’s absolutely beautiful. Her words, picture, and these names, are used with her permission.

Attached at the hip. Two peas in a pod. “You two do everything together!” Those phrases, and many more described Madison and I’s friendship. She was my person. Our senior year of high school came and went, and the big “c” word began to loom over our heads, college. We were headed in two completely different directions, I was headed to Waco, TX and she was headed to Franklin, TN. I was so excited, however; college did not excite her, she was dreading her own move-in day. Three weeks before Madison was supposed to leave, she made the bravest decision of her life; not to go. My best friend is taking a gap year, and I think #thatisbrave.
