Tindell Baldwin

(You can read more about her on her website and follow her on Twitter and Facebook!)

What the book is about:

Through a two-part journey (“Dark” and “Light”), Tindell details how she said goodbye to her family’s God and pursued popularity at all costs while climbing the social chain in high school. During a night of partying, she even encountered the man suspected of killing Natalee Holloway in Aruba. But God did not leave Tindell. The “Light” part of her story shows how she reconnected with God, changed her ways, and discovered abundant and real life through Christ.

Why I like it:

I’ve said it before- this is one of the most profound and life-changing books for teen girls that I have read in a long time, maybe ever. Tindell tells her hard, yet beautiful, story in a raw way that connects with women of any age. It is gritty and honest and full of redemption. It would be a great read for mother and daughter and particularly older teens.
