We heart the bird.

It seems we are all in agreement.

This sweet little bird is more than just a graphic on a header.

He is a mascot. A symbol. Dare I say…. a best friend?

Maybe. But I don’t like to rush these things.

I did go ahead and frame a picture for my bedside table. But like I said, I don’t rush these things.

His name? Well, after much ponderation [I made that word up, but I like it], I have decided that this is not just my bird. He’s our bird. So we’re gonna use every [male] name you suggested. Ready?

Meet our mascot bird:Β Rufus Theodore Oliver Pierre Percy Beaker Gerard Harper Kyle Guster Jimbo Darcy.

That is a fancy name for a fancy fowl.

But because that name is a memorization nightmare, we’ll just call him Mr. Darcy (the bird) for short.

It really makes a lot of sense. Cause the only other photograph on my bedside table is this one.

And right now is when I’m going to need you to stop judging me and instead use your energy to find me a date with a real boy so that I can take this picture off my bedside table and replace it with a picture of a real boy who lives in Nashville though I think it will still be appropriate to have the photo of Mr. Darcy (the bird) because that really won’t be a threat to any human male that starts falling in love with me.

Amen.

I didn’t contribute to the names because I’m just bad at it.
When I saw the start of the name you picked I gasped. Because my dad, the jokester, used to tell me he was going to name me Rocky P. Ruhenny Mayhossel Tumbletoe when I was born, but my mom wouldn’t let him. That’s his made up name of choice. So when I saw Rocky I knew I would heart the name. Mr. Darcy (the bird) is a great name.

Now for a date. Hmm. I’m too far away to recommend anyone, but the Father will see that you meet the right one. I’ll continue praying about that.

I stopped judging you when I saw that “Harper” made the list of names (my daughter’s name). But then I started judging you again when I realized the name has been condensed to Mr. Darcy, not Mr. or Mrs. Harper. And what do you mean you don’t have her picture framed and sitting on your night stand. Oh, the nerve. The nerve!

Yep Kyle… the 1st Mr. Darcy was on the PBS version. 2nd was the A&E version (my personal favorite). 3rd is Keira Knightley’s guy. So little bird, I suppose is now the 4th! ;o)

We just watched that version of Pride and Prejudice this weekend. But only because I couldn’t convince my husband to watch the 5 hour A&E version. πŸ™‚

Love your Mr. Darcy. And we’ll find you a real one. It might some ponderation, but I’ll think real hard on it. πŸ™‚ I’m only a few hours away, you know? Are you up for an Alabama man? πŸ™‚
