I love an Afternoon Distraction

Here’s the thing.

I sit at my computer all day long.

I’m talking ALL. DAY. LONG.

And I am so grateful for my job and what I get to do but trust me when I say it can get boring to sit at your computer all day long.

Most days, around 2pm-ish, after I’ve had a healthy-ish, dairy-free, we’re gonna beat this PCOS friendly lunch, I get back to work and have about an hour of solid writing before I get distracted on YouTube or the internet in general.

And I’ve decided, instead of keeping that distraction to myself, I thought I’d share it with you.

Because, you know, I’m a giver.

Or I don’t want to be the only one distracted each afternoon.

It’s not like a THING WITH IT’S OWN GRAPHIC or something that I feel the pressure to do every single day [I’m talking more to myself than to you here], but I am having a blast sharing the internet-y YouTubey things that I am finding.

[And. By the way. Did you have any idea I was such a YouTube nerd? I know. I love it.]

Also. I have found in the last week or so since I began posting my Afternoon Distraction, I immediately am able to get back to work. I have no idea of the science behind that, but I know that it is true.

So I hope you are enjoying having a little Afternoon Distraction a few days a week!

Do you have a favorite YouTube Channel or YouTube video? I’d love to share it [and give you credit duh]!!

I’ve like viewing your afternoon distractions. It’s funny how one little thing can change our whole perspective on a long day. This video is one I enjoy over and over again. My daughter danced pointe and was part of a liturgical dance troupe. This reminds me of those days, plus it’s Gungor! How can you go wrong with that?

Well, I WOULD say Mental Floss or Lizzie Bennet Diaries, but since you already know those… have you tried Welcome to Sanditon (with Gigi Darcy)? Other favorites would have to be the Piano Guys and Us (that last one’s under MichaelAlvaradoMusic), but they’re more music.

Thank you for the distractions! They definitely brighten my afternoon. 🙂

Olan Rogers is a gem. His storytelling abilities are unmatched. If you’re unfamiliar, I suggest you start with “Ghost in the Stalls”. Empty your bladder beforehand. You’ll thank me later.

I’m also a fan of Messy Mondays. I feel like their target audience is a little younger than me (us), but I think they are hilarious anyways.

Oh, and I’d like to thank you for the Lizzie Bennett Diary suggestion a while ago. I fell in love instantly. I’d like to say I kept my sanity and watched them in a respectable amount of time, but I didn’t. And I have no regrets 🙂
