I think I may be doing Pinterest wrong.
You tell me if so.
I know there are some profesh Pinteresters out there who are making lots of money and getting lots of repins and what have you. I don’t know how to do any of that. And I don’t want to.
I just like to make collections of things I don’t want to forget and things that I think are pretty.
I lack in strategy. I hope that doesn’t bother you.
Here is my Pinterest plan:
1. Find things I like. Put them on a board with other things in that category.
2. Find things I think other people would like. Put them on a board with other things that other people will like.
3. Make a secret board of gifts so my friends and family don’t know what I want to give them.
4. Make a secret board of wedding ideas so that I don’t forget cool stuff but make sure it is secret so I don’t get chastised by the world for having a wedding board when I am single. 🙂
Ahem.
Here are the things I’m loving to pin:
Books. I love books. I blog about books I like, books teens will like, and I’m trying to read 33 books in my 33rd year of life [2013].
Party-planning ideas. I do love to plan a good party and I feel like pinterest is full of fun party ideas.
Clothes. I love seeing outfits already put together because, you know, that means I don’t have to put it together myself.
House stuff. Though I’m a renter, I love pinning things on improving my home. I have three good friends that are building or remodeling and good gravy are they filling my pinterest home page. But it’s pretty, so I’m not quitting them. Yet.
Recipes. It sure makes it easy to feed my small group thanks to these recipes.
Some silly things. Like glitter and jokes and fingernail polish.
Also, if I still taught elementary school, I would have the most amazing classroom ever. Pinterest was MADE for teachers and moms, huh?
One of my favorite evening hobbies now is sitting down and scrolling through the popular page and seeing what others are pinning while watching Real Housewives of Atlanta and WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT KENYA WOMAN.
. . . . .
What do you love to pin? Want to share your favorite pin? Or pinboard? Do you love Pinterest?Â
Most importantly… um… am I doing this wrong?Â
